CAF Suspends Wolves Goalkeeper For 1 Year For Spitting At Referee

Warri Wolves fringe goalkeeper Rhiogbere Tejiri has been slammed with a 12-month suspension by CAF.
Tejiri's suspension comes after he spat at the first assistant referee in one of the two legs of Wolves' Caf Confederation Cup against DR Congo's FC MK Etancheite in the second round.

The Wolves shot-stopper could face further sanction from the world football governing body, Fifa, by the time Caf communicates the decision to the world body.

Caf stated in its summary of decisions taken by its disciplinary board this week that the offence of "the substitute goalkeeper, player no. 16 Rhiogbere Tejiri is spitting at first assistant referee".

The Wolves goalkeeper has been given "12 months suspension – decision will be communicated to Fifa who may extend it on the international level".

Tejiri has never been able to play himself into contention as first choice at Warri Wolves.
