‘The Flying Antelopes’ general manager Paul Chibuzor told AfricanFootball the much-travelled Emeteole has the team’s confidence.
“There have been no discussions in that regard (sacking Emeteole) at any of our meetings and I am really surprised at such rumours,” said Chibuzor.
“For now, there is no reason to think in that regard as coach Emeteole has displayed a high degree of competence in helping us achieve our targets this season.”
Rangers are 14th on the league table with 11 points from 10 matches and have qualified for the Round of 32 of the Federation Cup after they eliminated Kaduna United.
The top Rangers official also condemned the three-week break granted the league.
“It is uncalled for. There is no justification for that break as the aim will not be achieved. Most of the clubs will still be training as there are the Federation cup games coming,” he argued.
“This action by the LMC to a very large extent, brings to the front burner again the issue of who really owns the league - club owners or the league managers?”
