Ahmed Musa Shuns EPL Football To Stay At CSKA Moscow


Nigeria international Ahmed Musa has put to rest speculations he may join an English Premier League side after he signed a new four-year deal with CSKA Moscow which will see him stay with the Russian army club till 2019.

The Aminchi Football Academy of Jos product joined CSKA Moscow from VVV Venlo in Holland in 2012.

According to the club's general director, Roman Babaev, the negotiations went well and a deal has been struck.

"Negotiations went very smoothly. During the talks we were concentrating on technical details, as Musa's intention to continue performing in red-blues shirt was obvious from the first day,” Babaev told the club website.

“We are delighted that Ahmed prolonged his contract with the club."

Within three and half years with the club, the former JUTH FC and Kano Pillars forward has won two Russian league titles, a Russian Cup and two Russian Super Cups.

He has scored a total of 36 goals in 124 matches.
