Germany-based defender Leon Balogun has revealed he has not given up on playing in England at some point in his career after he underwent trials at Blackpool last year.
“I was there (in England) on trials. England is still a dream, we will see,” he told AfricanFootball.com in an interview.
But on hindsight, the tall Super Eagles right back said it was just as well that he did not join Blackpool because they have since been relegated from the English Championship to League One.
“I’m glad I did not go there because they went down (from the English Championship) five match days ago!” he said.
Balogun has played all his football in Germany, where he was born.
He has featured for Werder Bremen, Fortuna Dusseldorf, Hannover and he is currently as Bundesliga 2 side SV Darmstadt 1898.
