Bolivia Withdraw From Friendly With Super Eagles

Bolivia FA have decided to pull out of the international friendly match with the Super Eagles of Nigeria slated for March 26, 2015 according to Bolivian media.

Bolivian Football Association President, Carlos Chavez has stated that his country decided to withdraw from playing Nigeria on reports of political tension in the country.

"Armed conflict and the tense political situation in Nigeria forced our withdrawal from the game," Carlos Chavez said.

The coach of the Bolivian team, Mauricio Soria, has initially wanted the game cancelled because of the long distance between both nations before the president of the Bolivian FA later confirmed on Friday that they will honour the invite.

According to a top source in the Nigeria Football Federation, Nigeria will not accept the reasons given by Bolivia and FIFA have been notified on the withdrawal in order for the NFF to get appropriate compensations.

"The reasons given by the Bolivians are strange and unacceptable to us.FIFA have been communicated about this development.

"FIFA and our match agent are going to work out a compensation for us if the Bolivians fail to honour our agreement," the source said.

He continues by saying: "Meanwhile, NFF have immediately swung into action to get a replacement & ensure we play a game on March 26 in Uyo".
